SKYCITY scores again in netball agreement

SKYCITY’s strengthened its commitment to women’s sport by signing a fresh sponsorship agreement to support Netball Northern in the new National Netball League.

Its sponsorship will provide funding support for League - a proving ground for young and upcoming players trying to break into netball’s top grade.

SKYCITY Entertainment Group is also the principal sponsor of the SKYCITY Mystics, signing a three-year deal in 2015 to support the northern region’s professional ANZ Championship team.

Speaking at the SKYCITY Mystics’ season launch at Gusto at the Grand this morning, the SKYCITY Group’s General Manager Corporate Services, Grainne Troute says she’s  delighted the company is furthering its investment in netball at a grassroots level.

“SKYCITY is proud of its support for communities throughout Auckland and New Zealand and we see this new sponsorship as yet one more way that we can be part of the development of our country’s young people.

“The new league will play a huge role in fostering talent and ensuring that New Zealand continues to excel on the netball world stage,” says Ms Troute.

The latest sponsorship adds to a large stable of sports teams receiving SKYCITY support across basketball, rugby union, rugby league, golf, cricket and badminton.

Netball Northern chief executive Julie Paterson says she is delighted SKYCITY has agreed to become the team’s Premier Partner.

“This is a new and exciting development for netball in New Zealand. SKYCITY’s support is incredibly valuable, not only for us but for the continued growth of elite women’s sport in this country,” she says.
