SKYCITY is proud to support Blue September.
Blue September is the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s annual national awareness campaign. Here at SKYCITY, we’re very proud to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation as one of our key charity partners, and help increase awareness around prostate cancer and the importance of getting regular checks.
Throughout the month of September, we at SKYCITY have been doing our part to raise awareness. We have lit the Sky Tower blue for the month, as a blue reminder in Auckland’s night sky. We have placed many fundraising boxes around the SKYCITY precinct, we’ve hosted the Roast of Sir Peter Leitch and on 27 September, we will have the Poker4Prostate event where Kiwi blokes can master their poker skills whilst raising money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Every year around 600 New Zealand men die of prostate cancer, but deaths can be prevented if the disease is detected early enough.
That’s why Blue September is about getting the word out about prostate cancer. If you buy a blue ribbon, paint your face blue, donate money to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or even encourage the men you know to get checked, you will be directly helping lower the death rate and reduce the suffering from this disease.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation relies on the generosity of people to help them support men and their families who are living with prostate cancer and help spread the message for men to get regular checks.
