SKYCITY Hamilton’s Bowlevard up for an impressive makeover

One of Hamilton’s most popular entertainment experiences and the region’s only tenpin bowling facility – SKYCITY’s Bowlevard - is due for an exciting makeover this year, with significant enhancements being made including technology upgrades, brand new bowling equipment and an extensive revamp of the food and beverage area.

SKYCITY Hamilton is teaming up with New Zealand design company ctrl-Space and Hawkins construction for the design and fit-out of the new outlet, both of who were involved in the development of SKYCITY Hamilton’s City Co-Op food and beverage precinct. Completing the project team is the internationally-renowned provider of world-class bowling products and innovative bowling technology, QubicaAMF, who have more than a century of experience in the bowling and amusement business.

SKYCITY Hamilton General Manager Michelle Baillie says the changes are exciting news for Bowlevard customers and staff alike, with a hugely talented and experienced team of professionals on board to create a fantastic experience.

“Bowlevard is a very important and popular part of SKYCITY Hamilton’s business, adding to our wide entertainment offering here.  We’re really looking forward to showcasing a new and improved experience for our customers and we’re really thrilled with the design concepts being developed by the project team.  These enhancements will provide a faster, more enjoyable, streamlined experience for our customers, as well keeping up with technology and modernising the look of the Bowlevard area,” she says.

The upgrade will create a modern urban bowling and entertainment centre and will include significant improvements to Bowlevard’s current technology, new bowling lanes, balls and furniture, as well as a full refurbishment of the counter service area and cafe, installation of new flooring and lighting, and new uniforms for staff. There will be a strong local theme in the design of the space as well as the food and beverage on offer.

Groups of all sizes from birthday parties to corporate events will be fully catered for utilising private lanes, a private bar area and versatile furniture offerings.

“This is a very exciting time for SKYCITY Hamilton, following the opening of our new City Co-Op food and beverage precinct last year, and we are so proud to be further improving on what we’re offering our valued customers to truly be Hamilton’s premier entertainment destination,” says Ms Baillie.

SKYCITY Hamilton is aiming to start work on upgrading Bowlevard in mid-October, with the new and improved facility expected to open early December.
