Sky Tower to shine a light on Daffodil Day
This Friday and Saturday nights the Sky Tower will resemble New Zealand’s largest daffodil in support of the Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day appeal.
The base of the Sky Tower will be lit as a green stem while the top will light as a bright yellow daffodil flower.
As the Cancer Society’s biggest annual appeal, Daffodil Day donations are vital to providing a wide range of supportive care services for people affected by cancer.
Sadly, due to COVID-19, the Cancer Society Auckland cannot run its annual Daffodil Day street appeal for the first time in its thirty-year history, however Aucklanders can still donate online at daffodilday.org.nz.
The Sky Tower is the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest free-standing structure. Based in the heart of Auckland, it is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable landmarks.
SkyCity lights the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events, or as a symbol of respect or solidarity.
