Sky Tower lights black and white for Emirates Team New Zealand
Tonight we are lighting our Sky Tower in black and white to show our support for Emirates Team New Zealand in their battle for the 35th Americas Cup.
With the score at 6-1, we’re backing the team for that final win tomorrow in Bermuda to bring the America’s Cup back to Auckland where it belongs.
“We’re backing Team NZ to bring home the cup and we’re proud to light our Sky Tower for such a special event,” says John Mortensen, SKYCITY’s Group Chief Operating Officer.
“Auckland is the home of sailing and we’d love to see Team NZ bring the Auld Mug back to this wonderful city.’’

SKYCITY lights the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events, or as a symbol of respect or solidarity.
The Sky Tower lighting is best viewed, photographed or filmed 30 minutes after sunset.
