Sky Tower hits number one on TripAdvisor
Just six months after celebrating its 20th birthday, the Sky Tower has reached another milestone: voted number one activity in Auckland on TripAdvisor,
General Manager SKYCITY Hotels and Tower, Brad Burnett says it's a huge achievement for the Sky Tower to be recognised on TripAdvisor in this top spot.
"TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel site, and reviews from customers are a direct result of their experience with us. This highlights the ongoing dedication and passion of our Tower team who have continued to work really hard to deliver those memorable experiences to our customers. It's fantastic news for the team, and for SKYCITY," says Mr Burnett.
As the tallest free–standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere, the architecturally award winning Sky Tower is situated in the heart of Auckland and is renowned for its lighting and views. In the past 20 years, the Sky Tower has welcomed over 15 million guests to it’s three observation decks and three dining outlet;Sky Café on Level 50, The Sugar Club by acclaimed New Zealand chef Peter Gordon, and Orbit 360° Dining that revolves 360 degrees each hour.
The Sky Tower is also home to the AJ Hackett adrenaline filled SkyJump and SkyWalk activities where the brave can jump off or walk around the Tower at a height of 192 metres.
Since opening in 1997 the Sky Tower has been proudly offering the public with world class experiences and entertainment. Along with achieving the top spot on TripAdvisor, the Sky Tower has a long held reputation as a recognised must-do tourist attraction. This includes being listed in TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Top 25 Landmarks in the World for 2015, awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence year on year since 2014, and listed as a must-do attraction in Auckland by various global media outlets
