Maori eats and beats to star at Te Korakora on Federal

If you love great tunes and kai don’t miss Te Korakora on Federal – a free event in celebration of Māori street food, music and dance taking place on Thursday 22 June.

Come down after work to Federal Street at SKYCITY Auckland, which will be transformed into a Māori street carnival for one night only as part of Matariki Festival 2017.

Experience the tastes, sights and sounds of Te Ao Māori to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year. Taste the unique flavours of street kai as Māori chef Cameron Petley of MasterChef fame and SKYCITY Auckland’s Executive Chef for Conventions and Catering, Paul Barrett, work together to serve up tasty Māori-inspired cuisine.

Federal Street will come alive with the energy of Matariki; L.A.B. (Laughton & Brad Kora), A Hori George, Maisey Rika and band, young Māori singing sensation Tawaroa Kawana, RnR Music and Mai FM DJ09 are among the talented music line-up taking the stage. Watch electrifying live dance performances from Hawaiian entertainers Halau Hula o Moana Nui a Kiwa,the Poi Boys, and a not-to-be-missed LED poi demonstration - grab a glow-in-the-dark moko face-paint and party Matariki-style!

John Mortensen, SKYCITY’s Chief Operating Officer, says SKYCITY is proud to support Te Korakora on Federal for the second year running.
